Immersion Assembly – Term 3 – Fit for Purpose

Immersion Assembly – Term 3 – Fit for Purpose

Kia ora Bloggers. For the first day of term 3 we had an Immersion assembly in the morning at 9 o’clock. It was really fun and kinda boring. The focus for this term is Fit for purpose. Fit for purpose means being kind, making friendships and being fit. There were 6 teams that presented today at the Immersion assembly. My favorite team was team 6 & team 5.

The reason why I like team 6 was because it was about football, My favorite sport/hobby. The teachers which were in that team were Mrs Burton, Mr Vogt, Mrs Va’afusuaga & Mrs Clark. They talked about the FIFA women’s world cup. They named some of the teams that are going to play for the FIFA women’s world cup. There are 32 teams playing across the world. The FIFA women’s world cup is held at Auckland, NZ and Australia.

The reason why I liked team 5 was because they did a play about cross country. This term we also have cross country happening. Mr Wiseman was the main talker telling the story, Mrs Stone was the Pregnant teacher. Mrs Ilaoa, Mr Moran, Whaea Saff were the 3 little kids. I loved how they tried to make the play really funny and understanding for the seniors and juniors.

Reflection of Claudia and the new girl (Graphic Novel)

Reflection of Claudia and the new girl (Graphic Novel)

Claudia has always been the most creative kid in her class…until Ashley Wyeth comes along. Ashley’s really different: She wears hippie clothes and has multiple earrings, and she’s the most fantastic artist Claudia has ever met. Ashley says Claudia is a great artist, too, but thinks she’s wasting her artistic talent with the Baby-Sitters Club. When Claudia starts spending more time with Ashley and missing BSC meetings, it becomes clear that Claudia has to make a decision – one of them has to go!

Claudia was once babysitting Ashley’s neighbor, The Rodowskeys. Claudia never knew that they were Ashley’s neighbor. Ashley knocked on the door one day and told Claudia to stop baby-sitting and start working on her project for the art concert. Claudia ignored her and told her to go away. Ashley didn’t listen and argued with Claudia to work on her project more. Claudia shouted at her and said that Ashley has been controlling her, Claudia was so upset and couldn’t handle her words. Ashley ran crying home.

Claudia than Apologized to the BSC (baby-sitters club) members. They all forgave her and supported her in her art project. Claudia came second in her art concert and won cash prize. The message in this story is: always put friendship before your favorite hobby. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.  Thank you!

Reflection of Karen’s school picture (Graphic Novel)

Reflection of Karen’s school picture – Little sisters – By: Ann M. Martin

Karen has to get glasses! She doesn’t want them, especially because school pictures are going to be taken soon. But she picks out some pretty pink ones and thinks she looks very grown-up. Then Yicky Ricky at school starts calling her names, like Owl Girl and Googly Eyes. If Karen wears her glasses for the school picture, Ricky will make fun of her. If she doesn’t wear them, she’ll feel like she’s afraid to be herself. Glasses or no glasses, that Ricky is going to get it! Ricky end up getting Karma! He has to where glasses himself

At school Ricky is getting made fun of his glasses curing Recess. Karen felt sad for Ricking so she went and told the boys to go away and leave Ricky alone. Ricky didn’t thank Karen for what she did. He got mad at her and said “Leave me alone Karen! I don’t need a girl to hold my back, I can do it myself”. Ricky walked away grumpy to the swing and the playground. He was all alone, Hannie and Nancy told Karen to play Hopscotch with them.

Recess was over and it was home time. Karen rushed to her mom and told her that she wanted to go home and not to the library. Karen went home and thought of some names to call Ricky. She didn’t had any idea at all. the last day of sixth grade Ricky and Karen wee best friends. The message in this story is: Don’t make fun of others Karma will come back.
