Summer Stlye – Step it up!

Beach Sunset Color Pencil Drawing | Beach sunset, Color pencil drawing, Drawings

Today for SLJ I did Summer Stlye – Step it up!  This time I did my picture/drawing physically. I chose to do it physically because i thought it’ll make it a bit more better and more easier. Thank you so much Amie Williams for making this task. Please leave a positive comment on my blog. Thank you!

What a wonderful picture. Did you design, draw and colour in the whole thing by yourself? You have put a lot of effort into your mahi. I see you have thought about shadowing, reflections and you have chosen very specific colours to indicate what time of the day it is. The art is so lovely that it makes me want to go there. Is the picture based on a specific place?

You said you chose to do it by hand because you thought it would be better and easier. Did you find it easier than digitally? Did you enjoy creating your piece of artwork?

I do have a question. Where did you learn to shade and work on reflection work?

I see you did almost all of the Summer Learning Journey activities from week 1. I’m looking forward to seeing how you get on this week.

    1. Kia ora Janna, Swaimah here. I chose to make a sunset ocean place because going to the ocean at sunset is just a wonderful view. I feel like it is much easier doing it physically than doing it digitally because you can add lots of shades and colors, but on a google drawings is a bit hard to get those little details. I did enjoy doing this piece of art work because are is one of my favourite hobbies. I had a wonderful teacher at my school named Mrs Stone. She’s one of my favourite teachers, shes and art teacher who teached me how to do art. She was the one who inspired me to make art pieces. She taught me about shadeing and reflection.

      1. Kia ora Swaimah,

I too love a sunset. There is something incredibly peaceful about them. I equally like a sunrise but sunsets are much easier for me to see than a sunset. What I like about those times of the day is how quiet and peaceful the beach is.

Aren’t teachers like that just magical. Have you ever told Mrs Stone how helpful she was for you? I’m sure she’d love to hear it. Maybe you could show her this blog post so she can see how much she helped you.
