Digital Notan Formative – Kick start

Today for the SLJ I did Digital Notan Formative – Kick start. We had to make an art piece called Notan. Its a type of Japanese art where you make and art piece and you coulr half of the art piece white, and the other half black. I decided to go for a nice flower looking art piece. Please leave a positive comment on my blog. Thank you!

What is Notan art?
A notan drawing is simply a drawn work of art which highlights the interplay between light and dark spaces and seeks to create some sort of balance between the two.

Ciper and Code – Step it up!

Today for the SLJ I did Ciper and Code – Step it up! We had to try and guess Whaea Donna’s favourite Moana and Maunga. Her favourite Moana was Coopers Beach. Her favourite Maunga is Hikorangi. This acticity was much harder than the kick start if i’m being honest. It took a while to think of an activity I really enjoyed from the summer learning so far because they’ve all been really good. Please leave a wonderful and positive comment on my blog. Thank you!

Ciper and Code – Kick start

Today for the SLJ I did Ciper and Code – Kick start. It was a bit confusing to do but then I got the hold of it. I found out some cool codes and Cipers. I really enjoyed this task even though it was a bit confusing. I had to fill in what my favourite thing to do in the summer, and what is my favourite moana. I picked for the summer one, Swimming at the beach and also going to the strawberry farm. My faourite moana is the pt england reserve beach and mission bay beach. Please leave a positive comment on my blog. Thank you!

Silhouette Art – Kick start

Today for the SLJ I did Silhouette Art – Kick start. I had to find a picture of me and my friends or cousins. When I found a picture of me and my friends I then removed the background on a app/website called “remove.bg”. After that I had to get a slide, and add myphoto onto the slide with the background removed from the picture. Then I had to change the colour to black to look like a silhouette. Lastly I had to find a sunset to put onto the background. Please leave a psoitive comment on my blog. Thank you!

Summer Holiday 101 – Step it up!

Today for the SLJ I did Summer Holiday 101 – Step it up! It was EXACTLY like the kick start activity where we had to find a cold place around Aotearoa/New Zealand to stay for the holidays during winter. Now it’s the exact opposite. We had to find a place around Aotearoa/New Zealand to stay for the holidays during summer. I picked Rotorua because I’ve been there before with I came Back from Afghanistan. I had to stay back in the Rotorua hotel because of quarantine.

Why did I pick Rotorua?

I would really love to spend my summer holidays at Rotorua, New Zealand. Rotorua is a PEACEFUL and WONDERFUL place to stay for a few weeks or months. I would bring my Abaya which is something every muslim girl wears. Sunscreen to keep myself safe, Sunglasses to keep my eyes safe and an umbrella so then I can have some shade everywhere I go. Rotorua is a place where people are super humble and so responsible for their needs.

Winter Holiday 101 – Kick Start

Today for the SLJ I did Winter Holiday 101 – Kick Start. We had to find a cold place around Aotearoa/New Zealand to stay for the holidays. It was tricky at first to search up some places around Aotearoa/New Zealand. I decided to pick Ranfurly, Otago, New Zealand. Ranfurly, Otago looks so cool with all the cute animals and the wonderful weather. It’s also snows there which I have been waiting for!

Why did I pick Ranfurly, Otago?

I would really love to spend my winter holiday at Ranfurly, Otago. Ranfurly is a wonderful place in Otago, New Zealand. There’s snow everywhere and there are EXTREMELY FUN activities to play there. I would LOVE to go snow skating. I have also wanted to play with snow since AGES. I also heard that people in Ranfurly, Otago are really nice and they treat you like your the queen or king. One thing I will hate about being at Ranfurly, Otago is how cold and freezing it will be. It might feel like antarctica.

Poem Postcard – Step it up!

Today for the SLJ I did Poem Postcard – Step it up! It was again EXTREMELY easy but i bit of a challenge too. I had to make my own poem postcard from a google drawings. I decided to make a poem postcard for one my of friends that I met online on a cool site called “Edublogs”. As you can see I made an art piece of a baker (that is my friend) cooking some stuff in the oven.

I made this for my best friend Jamie. Jamie is a student from St Patricks School who is participating in the SLJ with me! She has commented on my blogs throughout my SLJ way. We both kept commenting on each others blogs and we then became friends. I read Jamie’s about me/bio and I found out she loves of bake. I really love baking too, mostly traditional desserts. I made this art piece specifically for her.

Poem Postcards – Kick Start

Today for the SLJ I did Poem Postcards – Kick Start. It was EXTREMELY easy. We had to go on a app/website called “Poem Postcards”, then we had to pick a type of poem we would like the AI to write about. I picked Sonnet, and the image I chose to do was 2 womens and a man walking across a field with golden hay or grass. This art piece was made by a wonderful lady called “Anna Ancher”. Then after you pick the type of peom u would like and the image, you go onto what the poem would like to be about. I picked gardening because it matched the art piece and theme. You will then see at the bottom right it says “Write a poem”. Finally your poem with be created.

I made this poem for my relatives in Afghanistan. I chose them because everyday they work hard to grow different types of vegetables and fruits. They try their best to get food to feed the little ones at home and the elder adults. Afghanistan is one of the poorest countries in the world. My relatives try their best to keep people arounf them healthy and still alive. Each person has a different responsibility with different plants and different roles at home. I would love to share and spread this poem to my loved ones in Afghanistan.
