Task description: Today for Math our math group worked on some stage 7 word problems. It was really confusing and hard at first but when we started to find out ways to solve them it was easy. I was a bit stuck on slide 2 but my friend helped me a lot. Maths can sometimes be really tricky, because you don’t know what’s about to come, what I mean by this is you think that the maths word is easy because of how it looks, but really it takes some time to solve it. One thing I really love about Maths is that you get to make your own question and that you also have to figure it out yourself. Because some mathematicians don’t just solve their own maths question straight away, they actually have to solve the problems themself.
Quote of the day: You don’t always know the answer to your own question, you have to solve it.
My highlight was being able to solve all the problems really fast even though our group was stuck on it for a bit. I had a really good maths session again and I loved how well our group shared their ideas with each other so I don’t have a low light from today’s maths lesson. As I said before it was a good maths lesson and I don’t have anything to work on today. After that I completed the task, and I posted it on our blog. Explanation reconstruction
My highlight was being able to finish the task really fast as it was pretty easy. Yet a lot of people were confused on what order it went in and they were stuck on it for a bit. I had a really good start to our reading session and I loved how well the people on our table worked together and shared their ideas with each other so I don’t have a low light from today’s maths lesson. As I said before it was a good maths lesson and I don’t have anything to work on today. After that I completed the task, and I posted it on our blog. Media Detective
Today for Cybersmart I did Media Detective. We had to answer 2 questions for each slide. We had to watch or look at the picture or video and answer questions about it. We then at the end had to make our own slide about fake media scammers. We had Mr Goodwin (AKA Matua Goody) In our class today explaining to us about the task for today that her created. My highlight is Making my own slide, which was an advertisment from Heinz saying that they have the best ketchup. Task Description: Today for Math we did Math Goals. I had to write 3 things that I need to get to the next level. I chose to learn more bedmas more often – Finding more ways to solve a problem – Understanding the problem. I had to also write how I can help myself in maths. I think something I really need to work on is putting time in math-whizz. Understanding algebra more so that I can solve the problem easily and fast.

Week #2 – Holiday Challenges
Today I did Week #2 Holiday Challenges. My teacher Whaea Saf didnt have time to make week 2 holiday challenges. I decided to make them myself. I think I’m the only one right now attending. I really like these challenges because I get to work during the holidays and get my mind on something to do. On the slides we were suppose to do challenges everyday except Sunday and Saturday. I made the challenges easy for me so that my parents would allow me to do it. My highlight is making the slides. My lowlight was nothing. Week #1 Holiday Challenges
Today I did Week #1 Holiday Challenges. My teacher Whaea Saf Challenged the class to do holiday challenges. I think I’m the only one right now attending. Trassum Lvl 3 & 4- Algebra
Today for math I did Trassum Lvl 3 & 4 – Algebra. It was really hard to do level 4 because there were brackets but I ended up finding the answers. Level 3 was okay, but it was much easier than level 4. I really like Algebra now because when you actually write the equation on pen and paper then it’s much easier to solve. We watched a few videos from Ruapotaka school and we knew how to solve the answers.

Free choices – Writing
Task description: Today for writing I did Free choices. It was really fun trying out new creative free choice tasks to do! I’m supposed to pick only 2 free choice tasks but I did 4 instead because I finished all my work. My first choice was if I could see one color for the rest of my life what would it be? My Second free choice task was what I would do if I won 2 million dollars. My third free choice was make a poem about something gross. My last free choice task was to pretend you are stranded on a desert Island. Write a story about your experiences. Blog Commenting – Writing
Task description: Today for writing I did Blog Commenting. For this task we had to go on 5 students blogs
(from our school) and leave them a positive, helpful and thoughtful comment. I chose Vika, Salem, Eleni, Tumanako & Elijah. This task was really easy and fun to do because we usually do this, but most of the time we don’t. I loved how each person I picked has different tasks/work and they have a good detailed task description.
My highlight was seeing all of the bloggers work and how hard they worked. My lowlight was trying to think of the people I should pick and what task to comment on. DLO – Animation – Fit for purpose
Task description: This term for DLO (Digital Online Learning) I did an animation for the theme Fit for purpose. We had to make an animation about a healthy kid or ourselves having the perfect time of sleep, Eating healthy, Exercising, Self talk and positive talk. It was really fun to do but it was annoying at the same time because we only got 8-9 weeks to complete. I also had a tough time because I was away for 2 weeks and I couldn’t do my animation. I was so sad that everyone else was in front of me. I decided to make an animation about myself having a healthy lifestyle.
The Video will take a while to load, It’s just like that. You might think that I have red hair throughout my animation but it’s actually my Hijab. I decided to do my Hijab a bit differently because I wanted to add some color. I really enjoyed doing this animation but it takes a really long time to create the backgrounds and to make the animation.
My highlight is finishing my DLO before the end of the term and being able to get marked for it. My low light is doing my DLO because it was really hard and it took a long time to do and I wanted to give up halfway through it but I pushed through and I got it done.
